FAQ

  • Why on-demand courses?
VPG’s on-demand platform is an innovative way to help legal practitioners grow their skill sets by accommodating them with a convenient way to learn more about cite-checking, legal research, legal writing, proofreading, and the American legal system. We are fortunate to be able to partner with Deborah Bouchoux, Esq. as an on-demand content provider for some of these courses. Besides Deborah’s series of on-demand courses, VPG’s founder, Ashley Cheung, also added two on-demand courses for patent litigation paralegals or those who want to develop expertise in the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and patent prosecution space. In 2022, Ashley co-presented a training with a PTAB practitioner, Jessica L.A. Marks, to discuss the principles behind filings and the legal framework and statutory grounds surrounding inter partes review and post-grant review proceedings. Ashley and her team are in the process of developing additional modules to address the calculation of due dates, formatting, and dos and don’ts for filing petitions. We plan to supplement content in 2023! More details to follow. The video content can be paused or replayed at the viewer’s discretion. The content of these videos is separated into bite-sized pieces to make them more accessible for viewers. VPG’s on-demand courses provide an individualized way of learning course content that promotes a better understanding of the material.
  • How did we get started?
Our Principal and Founder, Ashley Cheung, was a paralegal for over two decades. We got started developing these courses when Ashley realized a need for on-demand training content in the legal field. She then began approaching others such as Deborah Bouchoux, as well as patent practitioners, to help develop courses to help others level up their skills. From there, she collaborated with various people on and off the team to implement on-demand courses and a virtual platform to host them that make training and growth accessible to busy legal practitioners.
